     If you are asking can you sell as an affiliate through book stores, That will be tough. Most big chain book stores like Barnes and Noble only take books from the publishers, because they don't usually have to buy them. They put the books on the self more or less on consignment and the publishers take back what doesn't sell. If you have a good about of copies you could possibly place some in smaller book stores that are privately owned. The way most authors promote their books is by personal appearances at book signings.

     You need to be a bit more specific here. Are these E Books that you have written yourself, and what are they about? If the work is original I would opt for Clickbank as a starting point, so that you can get affiliates to sell for you. the downside of this is that you will have to pay high commissions (up to 75%). You can try and do a search for relevant forums by typing say "forum+keyword" in Google. (keyword being the subject of your Ebook.)

     Some suggest the shortest path to fast money is in CPA promotion, in which you have to be prepared to promote borderline scammy offers like free gift trials and take some financial risks. One pricey training program The Arbitrage Conspiracy is starting a second series, the first time around some students made it big but more lost thousands in search of their "golden nuggets".

     Some people blow thousands on secret formula tutorials containing recycled information.      Hi Jesse,

     In my experience, you really should purchase and try out the products you are attempting to market before you write reviews and articles about them. I've tried marketing some products without trying them out first and had no luck. I agree with infoprofits4u (Mario) that the best way to go is to create a list and market your product(s) to them. I've had much more success with this option. I use a variety of other traffic generation methods besides this. I write articles, use some pay per click advertising, back linking, blogs etc. etc., all with various levels of success. I believe that different products warrant different forms of advertising. You need to experiment with various things and see what works for each product you promote. You should also try to get all the knowledge you can about online marketing in general to help you along the way. The important thing to remember is to keep at it, it will take some time and effort in order to be successful, it isn't a get rich quick scenario like winning the lottery. Best of luck in your affiliate marketing journey.

    I am thinking about using affiliate marketing on my website, where I'm selling an e-book. I don't know much about it, but was wondering if anyone's used it before and what things I should consider before going ahead with it.

      Find out if there is an affiliate program related to the book you want to sell. If it's an ebook, you'll most likely find it on clickbank. If it's a hard copy, you could join any merchant that offers this book and has an affiliate or partner program (amazon, barnes&nobles,...).
      Then you place your referral link on your website, each time someone clicks on your link and buys, you get a commission.

      The hardest thing will be to get traffic to your site, starting out I would definitely recommend article marketing as this doesn't cost you anything. You write articles related to the product you're selling and then link them to your website/blog with the review.

      You can start with affiliate marketing for free, so apart from the time and effort you have to put in, there really is nothing to lose.

20. QUESTION:
    Basic Book Keeping - Affiliate Marketing Deductions and Credits?
    I promote online games where players make real cash deposits and can win real money. Each player is eligible for a bonus comp on their deposit. Meaning, if Player A deposits 0 they receive a 0 bonus.

    If Player A loses, then they lose not only their deposit but also the bonus.

    At the end of the month these bonuses are deducted from the Gross Gaming Revenue of that month. However, I don't see how each bonus can be deducted if the player loses this back to the house.

    If Player A receives a 0 bonus but loses the bonus, then the house is neither ahead 0 or lost 0, they are in fact even.

    If Player A wins and makes a withdrawal then yes the house is out the 0 bonus. Then and only then can the house deduct this loss of 0 bonus from the Gross Gaming Revenue and of course any winnings cashed out by Player A.

    However, and maybe I've got this wrong, but how can a 0 bonus be given, then lost, effectively being returned to the house and then being deducted? That doesn't make sense.

    It's similar to me lending a friend 0. At that point I'd be out 0. However my friend returns the 0 and I'm back to square. I'm neither out nor ahead, I'm square again.

    My question, given what I've tried to explain above, does this make sense, or am I being diddled on bonuses being deducted when they should not be deducted at all?

    Affiliate marketing and youtube?
    There's a company that sells a product online that I use on a day to day basis. I want to become an affiliate marketer for that company ie; drive customers and business to their site and get a kick back for it. i want to start by creating a youtube video of me demonstrating the produce with a link to the their site. I went on to the companies site that sells the product and found nothing about any sort of affiliate program. Does every company participate in affiliate programs... if I call what are the chances that they'll say they don't need my help? I plan on calling over the next couple days but figured I'd ask here first so I don't look like an idiot. How does affiliate marketing work.. will they simply provide me with a link I can embed into my video? Do I need a domain name to act as a sort of middle man between my video and their site or can i simply use the video? Do I need a license to do this?       Is internet marketing RIGHT or Wrong?... I have been involved with MLM / Network Marketing / Internet Marketing for the past 28 years, and in my opinion, it epitomizes the opportunity of free enterprise in countries that encourage entrepreneurship.

      Your best bet is to get affiliated with Amazon Associates. There you can earn commission on anything purchased through your site. I used it to promote a book that I read and someone ended up buying a 32" flat screen tv and I got paid for it. Amazon Associates has worked for me before, so there's no reason why you can't have the same success. You can also partner up with eBay and promote other people's web stores. I haven't tried the eBay route yet because you have to get approved first before using it. Once you set up either account and add it to your web page get this free course from the link below that will help you promote it. I've used it and it worked quite nice. There's some pretty good info in there.

      Hi Kell - welcome to the world of affiliate marketing!

      I spent many years doing affiliate marketing poorly so I'll share some of my experiences.

      (1.) Be sure you have a PROFESSIONAL looking website. I have a website sitting at http://www.xspirulina.com that I paid someone in Serbia to do. The purpose of the site was to see if the product would sell and at what price. Well, about 50% of the people who got to the first page left. Why? I don't know for sure but my guess is because it looks like I paid for it.

      (2.) Do some research on SEO or pay someone to do it. This is worth GOLD. If no one can find your site then you're not going to sell any items.

      (3.) Have a good understanding of Adwords before diving in. I spent a fortune on Adwords when I first started without much to show for it. Why? Because I had a rosey outlook for things like conversion rates.

      (4.) Know that very few people make a fortune at this. If you work hard and long -- 5 or 6 hours a week for a full year -- you'll start to see returns. I'm an affiliate with Overstock.com and my website http://www.eHalfOff.com (or the redesign I'm working on at http://www.eHalfOff.com/online-shopping) makes about [FAQ-ANSWER].04 per visitor I bring to my site. I hope to double or triple that with my redesign.

      (5.) Know how people are finding you. It took me the better part of a year to achieve a high ranking for the phrase: discount shopping for eHalfOff.com. Most of my customers find me using this phrase. However, in the past 90 days, customers have found my site using over 500 different keywords and phrases. I use this data to help me determine which words and phrases to target next. You never know when you'll stumble across a word or phrase that works well.

      You need to follow these key principles:

      1. Know what to promote

      ClickBank has over 10,000 products to promote. The product you choose has to have excellent gravity, momentum, closing ratio, and of course, most important, it must be giving you a nice chunk of the proceeds.

      If you went to ClickBank right now, would you know what to promote?

      2. Know where to promote.

      Most Affiliate Marketing noobs will just spam their hoplinks on classifieds, and are lucky to make 1 sale before they burn out and give up. I actually found a product that was offering to teach you how to do it! Correct advertisement is about learning where your competition is NOT marketing, and marketing there.

      3. Know how to promote:

      This most important! A great ad will not only destroy the competition, but get people clicking on your ad and buying like crazy.

    There are A LOT of advertisers on the Net now promoting affiliate marketing and internet sites selling digital ebooks and other such products, using techniques that could be called both questionable morally and ethically, or even legally. What do you all think about all this? One such book recently that is very popular is called The Rich Jerk....it is popular, but gives advice to people to use tactics that are morally unethical...thus, the term "rich jerk"......do we want to let them get away with this crap? Seems like the search engines themselves will start changing their entire set-up of their programming to prevent these scam artists from making money off of them.....most of these people claim to have made "millions at home" from these tactics. Anyone actually tried some of them and it worked....anyone actually tried them and then felt guilty for the tactics used to make such money? Anyone wonder if the legality of all this is going to come down on these people one day?

      Its not right but more and more companies are doing this. Right now not that many laws about it. Its going to keep the federal government and state governments busy enacting laws about this. Be kind of tough to catch but it will make law enforcement and lawyers busy in the future.

      Some free traffic software downloads do work and some don’t, actually most do not work that I have found. Once you find one “free traffic” software that does work you should stick with who ever made it and only purchase other software they suggest. Any time I find a program that does not work I return it asap. I have probably returned about 100 programs or more lol. I feel if I don’t learn anything new from the program I return it. I will not return it if I learn several thing I never knew that are actually helpful.

      Banner advertising that is CPM based or cost per thousand impression.

      Entertainment sites tend to generate low clickthroughs -- meaning users are only interested to read the content and ignore the ads. More so if it attracts repeat visitors as they tend to develop banner ad blindness very fast. Hence contextual advertising programs such as Google Adsense will perform poorly on your site (you will earn only pennies)

      But if your site has massive traffic, particularly repeat visitors, banner advertising that pays you everytime the ad is viewed will be your best money making opportunity.

      I suggest you join an advertising network. Advertising networks are organizations that aggregate Web sites that offer advertising space, and sell banner ads (and other advertising options) across them. Traffic requirement is often a minimum of 5,000 monthly impressions, although many do not accept sites hosted by free page services.

    I'm self-publishing my new book about to be published shortly through LightningSource. Here's my dilemma as a self-published, self-marketing author:

    1. Do I leave fulfillment to LightningSource/Amazon who will charge me 55% right off the top, leaving me with much smaller margins (the cost of the book will come from my share, the remaining 45%) and focus on just marketing the book? If I take this route, then I can't do much for affiliates and Joint Venture partners, but reduces a lot of S&H overhead.

    2. Do I do the fulfillment myself, selling the book for lower than Amazon, worrying about shipping and handling (especially international shipments, refunds, etc)? This approach will give help me pay decent amounts to affiliates, JV partners and bulk resellers, but increases my order- processing overhead.

    The other problem with selling on Amazon is that Amazon will not share the buyer's contact info with you (unless I'm wrong?).

    So, I'm trying to figure out what's the best way to market on Amazon, as well as on my web site - but the major problem of doing it on my web site is figuring out the shipping price for international buyers.

      You can earn money with affiliate marketing, but it takes time and effort and you won't be earning a large sum of money right away. Your question may encourage a lot of spammy answers suggesting books and systems to buy, but they are largely a waste of money. It is really pretty simple to do affiliate marketing. You are to become what is called a "publisher" so you need to have at least one website or webpage URL to become a "publisher" to apply for most of the better programs. So here's what you need to do:
      1. Create a website, websites or webpages about a particular theme or topic. It might be household tips, travel, cooking, sports, gardening, crafts, pets, hobbies, how to build a birdhouse - anything that interests you that you know about or are willing to do some research to learn about. Eventually you may want to make several pages about several topics that interest you to increase the number of products you can market. If you are looking to start for free, get a free blog or blogs or start creating pages about specific topics on Hubpages or Squidoo.
      2. After you have created a page or pages with interesting original content and photos about your topic, apply to affiliate programs and look for companies that have products that fit in with the topic of your pages.

    I already did PPC, YSM, expired domain traffic, and eBay auctions. All these fail, cost me cash, with no sale or inquiry, just seller fees to pay these vendors.

      Unfortunately the theme you mentioned revolves around the stuff at Amazon (or similar sites). Affiliate payouts aren't so great unless you get tons of traffic. Just think about it...you sell a book or movie and get a couple of bucks. If you're reviewing popular stuff, then you might have a hard time getting ranked in the search engines due to competition. So it depends if you're focus is to have fun or make money. If you want to make money, I would suggest doing reviews on stuff that aren't too competitive. You'll have to test AdSense and affiliate programs to see which ones are the best for your site.

      As far as other monetization strategies, you could sell your own product or sell advertising if you're getting a lot of traffic.
