Make Money As An Affiliate

Affiliate Marketing For Beginners

What is affiliate marketing? Why is it a great way to earn money quickley online? How do I do it? The answers to that are easy lets go through them!

Basically Affiliate Marketing is selling other peoples stuff. But with affiliate marketing there are two huge advantages over having a normal shop or online shop.

1: You don't have to buy any stock. All you are doing is telling potential buyers about a product and sending them to a supplier.

2: With not having a product you don't have to worry about after sales services such as warranty issues or returns of products. So how you the affiliate get paid out of all your hard work of connecting the buyer to the seller.Well you get the commission of any a sales made. Depending on the item it can be up to 75% of the sales price.

That's why I really love Affiliate Marketing. No responsiblilty and very little set up costs. So the question you must be asking yourself is where do you sign up.

Look the first thing you need to do is learn about affiliate marketing. For that I recommend you get yourself a course and a mentor. By a mentor I mean someone who has been successful in the industry. This requires research. There are many courses on Affiliate Marketing available. Have a good look at them and see which one suites you and your needs.

The more and more you get involved in Affiliate Marketing the more exciting it becomes with many people branching off into different areas including developing and selling their own products.

The great thing about all this is its up to you. I've been affiliate marketing for three years now and only sell other peoples products and make all the money I want. For more information about this great home based busines review my site at www.makemillionsonlinenow.com

  1. QUESTION:
    Free Affiliate Marketing Beginner Resource
For a beginner in internet marketing, what would be the best free source to get started?

    • ANSWER:
download a free copy of the Affiliate Master Course from the site below

  2. QUESTION:
How to do affiliate marketing for really unfamilliar beginners.?
Hello everyone! I am a 19 year old female interested in affiliate marketing. Now, I am completely new to this and don't know much about it at all and I do not have a website or a blog. I have so much spare time on my hands so I figured why not use it to make extra income from the internet! I was thinking of using Ebay to sell affiliate products but not sure if this is allowed. I really don't know where to start or what I need to have in order to get started, but I do know there are a few scams out there. I was hoping any affiliate marketers or anyone with experience could help me out. Thanks guys!

    • ANSWER:
Here is a very basic plan to get started...

      1. Pick a product. Choose a physical product from commission junction, clickbank, or an independent affiliate program from a directory like the one below.

      2. Setup either a domain with the product name, or a free blog at wordpress.com or blogger.com to have something to link to. You can just buy a domain name with your own hosting and redirect to the affiliate product with your link. Write 1 'presell' page that explains the benefits of the product with multiple buttons/links with your affiliate link to the product home page.

      3. Write articles with your product keywords in the titles and also listed 3-5 times throughout each aritcle and point the links to your domain or blog. For a beginner article marketing works well. So write 3-5 articles about the product, an overview if your not familiar with the product in a review style format. Submit to the major article directories like ezinearticles, goarticles, articlesbase, squidoo, and hubpages and place links at the bottom of the article with a call to action to your domain or blog.

      4. Signup at some social bookmarking sites and then social bookmark your articles AND your blog.

      5. Repeat the above steps with another product

Do that on a consistent basis and you'll be making money in no time. Good luck.

  3. QUESTION:
Just starting out in Affiliate Marketing, can anyone give some beginners advice (not just links?
I have opened an account with ClickBank and I have downloaded the Affiliate Masters Course e-book as well as the SiteSell e-book. I am just looking for some helpful advice on how to get started and some tips on how to be successful with it.

I am not looking for any links on affiliate marketing--I've seen just about all of them. But if you have your own website or blog as an affiliate marketer, I would love to take a look at it to see first hand what it looks like.

I know that to be successful with this you have to put in a lot of time--this I have, I do not work or go to school, and I really want to be successful with this.

If anyone considers themself a mentor in this field, I would really appreciate your help!!!! Thanks.

Hi Kell - welcome to the world of affiliate marketing!

I spent many years doing affiliate marketing poorly so I'll share some of my experiences.

(1.) Be sure you have a PROFESSIONAL looking website. I have a website sitting at http://www.xspirulina.com that I paid someone in Serbia to do. The purpose of the site was to see if the product would sell and at what price. Well, about 50% of the people who got to the first page left. Why? I don't know for sure but my guess is because it looks like I paid for it.

(2.) Do some research on SEO or pay someone to do it. This is worth GOLD. If no one can find your site then you're not going to sell any items.

(3.) Have a good understanding of Adwords before diving in. I spent a fortune on Adwords when I first started without much to show for it. Why? Because I had a rosey outlook for things like conversion rates.

(4.) Know that very few people make a fortune at this. If you work hard and long -- 5 or 6 hours a week for a full year -- you'll start to see returns. I'm an affiliate with Overstock.com and my website http://www.eHalfOff.com (or the redesign I'm working on at http://www.eHalfOff.com/online-shopping) makes about [FAQ-ANSWER].04 per visitor I bring to my site. I hope to double or triple that with my redesign.

(5.) Know how people are finding you. It took me the better part of a year to achieve a high ranking for the phrase: discount shopping for eHalfOff.com. Most of my customers find me using this phrase. However, in the past 90 days, customers have found my site using over 500 different keywords and phrases. I use this data to help me determine which words and phrases to target next. You never know when you'll stumble across a word or phrase that works well.

      Good luck to you!

  6. QUESTION:
What's the step-by-step process for making money online with Affiliate Marketing like ClickBank?
Having been exploring the internet marketing field for the last 10 years, I am still very frustrated not knowing how exactly to make money online with Affiliate Programs like ClickBank or Commission Junction that's Affiliate Marketing.
Please, reply to me only in case you are already making tons of money as a Super Affiliate.
In addition, please do regard me as an absolute beginner to Affiliate Marketing as I have never ever made any money with Affiliate Marketing at all.
Obviously, the main reason I am interested in the Affiliate Marketing field is the fact that I still do not have my own products or services to sell.
What I have realized is that there is a huge amount of scepticism among many potential Affiliates (including myself) when it comes to the important question whether or how I as an ambitious Affiliate can trust the Merchant or how I can be assured that the Merchant will morally and honestly be paying to me (or into my PayPal account) every time I refer them to a customer who then buys the Merchant's product from my Affiliate link.
    Subsequently, my main questions are:

How to research into, find and then select a legitimate Affiliate Program?

How to make sure that the Mechant will really link my PayPal account correctly and properly, so that I know he or she is a genuine and professional person who won't be cheating or stealing away my hardly earned commissions?

How and where can I create a simple web page (landing page or squueze page) with my affiliate link? Please, once again regard me as an absolute beginner and tell me the step by step process of how to set up or create my Affiliate web page as I really do not know how to.

How to ensure the necessary traffic of potential buyers to my Affiliate web site so that I really start seeing some concrete results that's making money online? If it's Pay Per Click that is a solution, please guide me step by step on how to create successful money making Google Adwords campaigns. Or, do you suggest anything better than PPC?

Once again, I am only interested to learn from experienced money making Affiliates and Super Affiliates who have been making lots of money from the Affiliate Programs that they have joined.

Please, do not try to sell me here any cheap ebooks or similar downloadable information products with hyped and long sales copies, because I won't be wasting my money on these any longer.

If you're a genuine and successful Affiliate Marketer, please feel free to reach me on my Skype: bruno.bb100

In advance many thanks for your kind help and advices.

Best wishes for the New Year!!

      Hi there,

I find it interesting to post such a question on something as public as Yahoo Answers: I wonder how many people will post dozens of affiliate links to GRQ programs etc!

Personally, my experience of affiliate marketing is making a little income through Amazon Associates (laptops and books) and a Wholesale Directory. In every case, the pages with the links on weren't especially promoting the product in question. You could call this 'passive affiliate marketing'. I did have a lot of traffic though until I sold up.

My current website, I'm focusing a bit more on active promotion where I feature and talk about the product in question. That way, I can shift higher-ticket items - some of my favourite affiliate programs I've featured here: http://www.how-to-build-a-website.co.uk/free-to-join-affiliate-programs.html

I know you're not going to like the paid material, but Affilorama offers a free level of membership which is quite good. They do promote their premium level of membership ( monthly!) and try and entice you in with one-time offers etc. but have a look at the free program. http://www.affilorama.com/

I've also got rights to distribute this eBook: http://www.how-to-build-a-website.co.uk/support-files/affiliate-masters-course.pdf - It's 152 pages long, and it helped me focus on the affiliate marketing strategy for my current site.

  7. QUESTION:
Affiliate marketing question(s) for a beginner. Experts please help if can.?
    1. Once I put a “link” to the product on my blog website, do I earn commission for each product that is sold or just the first one?
    2. My web site is unknown. How do I attract an audience?
    3. Why do I need to go through a 3rd party affiliate network like clickbank or commission junction in order to promote products? Do they take part of your commission away? Can’t I just work directly with the vendors?

    Thank you :)

    • ANSWER:
      1) Normally, you will earn commission from every sale of a product that comes through your link. The affiliate network, whether it's clickbank or CJ or shareasale or whomever, will send you checks on a published schedule for your sales. Nice thing is - that's ALL you have to do. You don't need to turn in orders, handle money and payments and orders - just cause traffic and sales through your site.

      2) You'll need to get your site known. One way is to answer questions here and on other forums and include in your profile or your posts, your signature box, including the address of your website. IMPORTANT: When you answer questions, give the best answer you know how to give, and as thorough as you know how, because you want people to know that you KNOW what you're talking about. Then, they will possibly want to know more and click on your site. So, it's good for you AND it's good for them..

      3) As I mentioned in answer #1, by going through the affiliate network, you don't have to deal with anything except marketing of your website that has the links to the product. If you deal directly with the product provider, (which you CAN DO), then you have to be responsible to the provider for your orders, collections of money and payments, refunds, etc., etc., and so on.

The small amount the networks charge before your commission is WELL WORTH it to you, as you do your job and they just send you money.

While you can deal directly with the product provider, some of them won't deal with you because you're unknown and - frankly, may not pay for goods ordered, or follow through and deliver to your customer. The affiliate network makes sure there aren't problems either with you getting your money, or with the customer getting his/her product.

It's a very, very good system, and I've been using it for several years.

  8. QUESTION:
In desperate need of help. Questions concerning my "niche" in affiliate marketing. Please help if can.
Hello. As a beginner affiliate I'm trying to learn as much as I can so bare with me. Most of the articles say that you should find your own "niche" that you know about or an area of interest that you have a passion in. I have always been interested in the topic of "dating and seduction." But I have come to face some problems that I find rather discouraging:

    1) Even though I like this embarrassing topic, I don't know if it is something that sells.

    2) How can an art form like this compete against the technological world of digital products (something that I feel indifferent towards, but is something that I think would greatly sell)-cameras, computers, ipods, etc.?

    3) I know there are a few ebooks on this topic already, but I also know of websites that one can go to in order to find all this type of material for free (because that's what I used to do), so can't my target audience just do the same thing?

Please answer questions if can. Thank you.

How can I learn how to be a super affiliate marketer for free?
I really want to learn the ends and outs of affiliate marketing but it seems like everywhere I search for well rounded information for beginners they want you to spend money on they're package that might not even work or they charge you a arm and a leg (and it still might not work). Where can i find free information about becoming an affiliate marketer?

    • ANSWER:
You might find this site useful -

      http://www.affiliatecavern.com/

It only lists free to join affiliate programs, and gives an overview of affiliate marketing techniques for free.

In the long-run, as with any business, you will probably need to invest money if you want to make a go of it (for example, if you want a decent web site and domain name, you have to pay for them)... and as with any business, there is a risk that you may not succeed and may not make money.

  11. QUESTION:
Debbie Vladic , How Long Will It Take My Affiliate Marketing Business To Make Money?
This is probably the most asked question everyone asks their mentor, upline or affiliate partner when they are just starting out. The answer depends on a lot of factors, most of which come down to the person asking the question.

If you follow a proven system or plan and do everything right, the money should start rolling in very quickly. The key here is finding the perfect, duplicative system for you. Remember systems work, people fail. Why do you think that McDonalds is so successful? It?s certainly not because they have the best food! They have a simple, duplicative system that every single franchise owner follows exactly. Once again, systems work, people fail. If you want to be a farmer go to a successful farmer and learn his techniques. And if you want to have a successful affiliate marketing business go to a successful affiliate marketer, plug into their system and watch the profits start to come rolling in.

For beginners just starting out this is the best and most proven

    • ANSWER:
      Debbie,
The biggest factor of success is the person. It is that factor that will have the biggest key to answering how long.
If you fallow a proven system it will boost your chances of success and will eliminate many mis-haps. Finding a duplicative system can be great. With the factor of the person in question on the mind, it is extremely necessary for the person to do due diligence prior to getting involved. Many people get involved with a duplicative system and fail because they think all the work is done for them.
I agree with you statement in affiliate marketing. There are great resources for help in affiliate marketing. I use a web host that trains and assists in this area. No hype. The teach how to attract traffic to your website not a replicated site. If you can't get people to see what you have to offer then it doesn't matter what affiliate marketing program you belong to.

  12. QUESTION:
In the world of affiliate marketing, where do I begin?
I created a website with my amazon astore in it, I had 12 page views today, as of 2:10 am. I may have some hope, but yesterday and prior, the four sleepless nights I spent learning from scratch and making it happen, or at least hoping to, and never having done this before posed a big challenge to me, but I am not giving up, I just hit a point where I am confused. I had zero sales in my astore, and no clicks on any google adsense advertisements, where could I be going wrong? I would like to know some promotional strategies and techniques for gaining the favor of a potential customer, and what markets I would have the best shot at as a beginner. I have submitted my website to every place I could find online yesterday, how long does that usually take to bring traffic ?(beyond 12 people today so far and about 70 yesterday). or is it an ongoing battle? I need help developing a solid business plan, and review real websites of affiliate marketers to learn from their sites as well, know of any examples?

    • ANSWER:
This won't happen overnight for starters. Firstly, forget affiliate marketing, doesn't work... Go for just Google Adsense. Make directories and information websites, you need many hundreds of pages to each site, you need to understand good basic optimisation and marketing techniques. 12 visitors to a site will do you nothing. You need several hundred thousands of people a day to make a site work for you inthis way. OR you need many sites with thousands of visitors. It took me 6 years to get my Adsense earning me a full time income and 15+ sites! Take your time, work hard and use common sense and you'll get there.

  15. QUESTION:
What would help my chances of getting into College the most? General guidance needed 4 CompSci/Football Guy.?
First off, a little back story so that you'll understand everything. Basically, didn't do that well in High School just getting low B's and High C's despite the simplicity of those courses. I just didn't think any of it would be that important at the moment, and now its coming back to bite me in the a$$.

Well sort of anyway, I spent the time I was supposed to be doing homework learning computer programming and other divisions of computer science. I graduated high school May 2009, and wasn't sure if I wanted to go to college yet so I gave myself a year off.

Now it's January, and I'm wanting to go to college. I just took my SAT's and will be getting my scores back on February 19th. I've been looking at Colleges such as:

    Rice University (First Choice)
Harvey Mudd (heard this school was tough, but i've always liked a challenge)
University Of Texas at Austin (School i've always dreamt of going to)
    Texas A&M
    Ohio State
    University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
    CalTech

I am VERY interested in genetic programming, and have been toying around with it lately. I am also well versed in OOP principles, and making flexible, reusable, and extensible programs. I have experience developing software for clients via freelancing websites such as rentacoder.com and scriptlance.com.

As you might be able to tell, I am very confused as to what I need to do now. I was wondering if applying genetic programming to solve some sort of problem would increase my chances of getting into these schools. Would any other type of computer programming projects help my chances of getting in? Is my real world software development experience helpful in getting me into college?

Also, my family is making little to no income right now so I should be eligible for financial aid. I have found a ton of resources online, but I'm not sure what to do with all of them. I'm basically lost right now, and asking for some guidance for anyone that has been in a similar situation. Also, here is a list of skills that I have:

    HTML
    CSS
    Graphic Design (beginner to intermediate)
    PHP (5 years experience)
    MySQL
    Perl
    Python
    C# (3 years experience)
    *nix administration
    I'm great with Regex
Security vulnerabilities (hackthissite.com hellboundhackers.org and finding vulner. on local machine)
    C++ (beginnner)
Java (beginner to intermediate, very similar to C#)
    Search Engine Optimization
    Internet Marketing
    Affiliate Marketing
    E-commerce
    Ad copy testing/tracking conversions
    Google Adwords Specialist

I also might consider playing football in college, here are my relevant attributes:
    6'4 198 lbs
    4.6 40 yard dash
    225 lbs X 1 (weak I know)
    32" vertical
    4.43 20 yard shuttle

Another thing of note is I have impeccable balance and control of my body due to training parkour for 2 years. Here is parkour:

    Website Idea, Need Help!?
I plan to make website compiling event information around my local area. Events include major and popular concerts, sporting events, lectures, art shows, etc. I plan to finance the project through Google Adsense and Affiliated Marketing.

What is a good hosting company that would allow me, a beginner web designer, to build a great-looking website. I would like to have premade templates and stock photos I can use for free so all I have to do is write text, upload photos and videos, and provide libks.

I have been using Bluehost.com, but they so many options on the CL panel, it is quite confusing. Homestead.com has the best website builder out there but in terms of hosting and the options bluehost.com offer are not listed on Homestead.com.

    • ANSWER:
I would go with Hostamina.com - they will help you with any questions you have and point you in the direction of a huge collection of templates you can have for free and edit any way you desire. They will also allow you to instantly install blogs/forums/ and much much more. Their support is highly personalized and they definitely won't let you down! Also, they don't oversell like Bluehost does. Their servers are super fast and highly reliable!

      http://www.hostamina.com

You should avoid hosts that offer "unlimited" space/bandwidth as this is somewhat of a scam. You should also avoid hosts that offer ridiculous amounts of space/bandwidth, such as 10GB space for only /month. Hosts like this overload and oversell servers, and are bad news for anyone who wants reliability.

You should also avoid answers here that send you to review sites, as those sites make money off commissions and rank hosts based on how much money they'll get paid, not on how good they are. You should avoid answers here that look like they are affiliate links as well, for the same reason.

  17. QUESTION:
    Do you recommend Wealthy Affiliate?
I visited WealthyAffiliate.com and scanned through what the program offers. As as a monthly subscriber for per month, you get Internet marketing training & tools, website development training & tools, monthly PLR articles, personal coaching, and membership forum.

I am familiar with the PLR articles as I joined a free-trial membership of another website. Their PLR content were so general with not much thought put into it with no expertise. It looks like anyone could have written them. Do you recommend going this PLR route to make money off of the Internet? Also, describe the PLR articles and the website templates of WealthyAffiliate.com.

Tell me about your success or failure from WealthyAffiliate.com. Do you recommend it? Do you like their program? How much money are you making or did you make? Is it recommended for beginners or only more experienced marketers?

How do I find affiliates to help me sell my products...Painting DVDs?
I sell a beginners course for oil painting for 0 and need to find people to market for me ...I have a website and have tried Adwords but just too much of a hassle for me. I looked into clickbank but they only accept e-programs and currently I'm not selling via download. Do I pay by commission or a flat monthly rate for a banner etc,? Where can I go to find affiliates? Any Advice? Thanks

    • ANSWER:
I would suggest that you look into signing up with a reputable Affiliate Marketing Company which will already have a network of Affiliates. You will of course need an eCommerce website, and there will be a setup charge that you will have to pay up front. How much you have to pay in commissions however is up to you, but bear in mind, that the less you are willing to pay in commissions, the less will be your chance of getting the best affiliates. Commissions are usually a percentage of sales.

    • ANSWER:
I joined Wealthy Affiliate about 6 months ago and I am still a paying member. The creators (Kyle and Carson) have done a tremendous job, but I really have to take my hat off to the members there on the forums. Its pretty cool when Kyle or Carson answer your questions on the forums, but whats really cool is being able to talk to people, like you or me, that have used wealthy affiliate and are making thousands of dollars every month. You wont get that anywhere else.

You spoke about the PLR articles and how the prior program that you were involved in was pretty poor. Your not likely to see much poor material at WA. Kyle and Carson offer a lot of information in that area, not to mention all the members who offer their little tips on how to better market their PLR articles for maximum profit.

The website templates are great, download, edit, and upload into your ftp and your website is up and running. But, what I think is more important is their "site rubix". Its a website creator that is literally click and drag type of creator and the quality is superb. Also, there is a ftp program attached to the site rubix making downloading the coding onto the domain a breeze.

I'm not going to lie to you, Affiliate Marketing is a business like any other. Your going to have difficulties in the beginning, and if your willing to learn and build up through the difficult, then your on your way to great success. Wealthy Affiliate will help you along the way, one baby step at a time. Whether your an expert, or a beginner, you'll find that Wealthy Affiliate can help you

I wish you success and good luck.

    • ANSWER:
I have seen virtually every hyped program out there. They are all the same with a different brush.

The only person who consistently makes money are the people who put the scam together.

Keep in mind the the economy is in the tank. People are not running to buy some get rich quick program becease it doesn't happen that way.

Have them show you copies of everyone's tax returns and prove all this money they made.

I would not spend the money on it.

    • ANSWER:
      I tried it.
      Couldn't make it work.
Although that could just be me, the internet t hing isn't something I wanted to be doing.

      As for the members their.
My opinion is they are top class.
Both Kyle and Carson help you out quite a bit.

I emailed them almost everyday and they always responded.
They look at your google campaigns and give suggestions and idea's.

I did make quite a few sales.
One of may campaigns was pretty successful until I tried tweaking it and it went downhill from there.
Also had this one campaign were I had this ridiculous ROI. About 300% but I only made a sale once every 2 months.

Like I said, this wasn't my thing.
But if you want to try something, here is as good a place to start as any.
