You could go to ebay and check the ebay pulse section and find out what people are searching for and buying the most,and then drill down into that niche so that you are not competing in a general niche where thousands of other people are promoting their stuff.

Do you know who your target-audience is?The more specific you are, the better. Define exactly what kind of person may be interested in the product/service you're trying to promote. Think about it: what type of problem does the product/service solve? Who needs to solve (or avoid) such problems?
Then think about the places where you can find potential these customers, i. e., sites where these people gather: forums, groups, communities, blogs. Start visiting these places, share helpful information, make relevant comments (or ask appropriate questions) be nice, don't be pushy, never spam anyone. Never ever break any rules.
Drop your aff. link only when allowed, that is, in forum signatures (check the forum's rules before), email signatures and blog comments (there's usually a "website" field on comment forms).
Open an account at Twitter and fill in your bio with interesting information that shows you're an actual human being, not with a sales pitch. And start adding/following other users. But never add too many people at once, otherwise you'll be flagged as spammer. Don't advertise anything at first (use the URL field for this); just be nice, answer questions, share cool links and useful bits of information.

I suggest that instead of an actual website, you consider creating a blog. The reason I say this is because you can write all the time and post as many entries as you like in your blog. Search engines love sites and blogs that update constantly.I am assuming you will be giving your opinions about various movies, music, etc., you can post a affiliate link to the particular item you are reviewing. If you do one movie or CD or whatever per entry, Then you increase your chances of people visiting your blog and even buying stuff from the links. Especially if the entry for that item is well written.
As an added bonus, consider adding reviews of stuff you don't like and posting an affiliate link to it. Then you can say something like "If you wanna check out this garbage, be my guest. Just don't blame me after you wasted your hard earned money"or something like that. You'd be surprised how many people will fall for reverse psychology.
All in all, this will take time and patience. But if you work hard at it, your blog could be great. Or if you decide to go with the site, that's cool too.

Of these, I have done the best with Commission Junction, and then Amazon. It might have a lot to do with the nature of my site (art portraits, drawing) and that I have drawing books linked. Most of my income from Commission Junction came from Dick Blick art supply links.
It's pretty easy to integrate, but don't try to do a site that is only affiliate links, it must have content to support it and bring the traffic in. The things/companies you link must also have something to do with what's on your site in general.
I can also tell you that whenever you can set the affiliate displays up so they complement some of the colors on your site but don't fully match your site's background, they do better.
I don't know anyone who's gotten rich doing affiliate marketing - I get perhaps per Quarter from Commission Junction, and perhaps per Quarter on average from Amazon. But considering it's all 'found' money - didn't cost anything to get started and I didn't have to ship out anything, it's pretty nice. Can't complain!
I have found that if you concentrate on mainly working with only one or two of the affiliate organizations to begin with, you will be able to maximize the sales enough to get a check. (with most there has to be a minimum amount earned per quarter in order for you to receive payment).
Many of the affiliate companies have forums or message boards and you can learn a lot there from experts.

Hi Kell - welcome to the world of affiliate marketing!I spent many years doing affiliate marketing poorly so I'll share some of my experiences.
(1.) Be sure you have a PROFESSIONAL looking website. I have a website sitting at http://www.xspirulina.com that I paid someone in Serbia to do. The purpose of the site was to see if the product would sell and at what price. Well, about 50% of the people who got to the first page left. Why? I don't know for sure but my guess is because it looks like I paid for it.
(2.) Do some research on SEO or pay someone to do it. This is worth GOLD. If no one can find your site then you're not going to sell any items.
(3.) Have a good understanding of Adwords before diving in. I spent a fortune on Adwords when I first started without much to show for it. Why? Because I had a rosey outlook for things like conversion rates.
(4.) Know that very few people make a fortune at this. If you work hard and long -- 5 or 6 hours a week for a full year -- you'll start to see returns. Thus he makes money.... its a huge task . appreciate my candor. There are so many available now, your first hurdle is ranking up there for visibility. But before you do so, do some more homework on competitive price / service analysis; stand alone packages, and various bundled versions of complimenting tools.
A great way is to create your blog, the most effective medium to gain some trust first, definitely an RSS from your site with meaningful tips to drive traffic to your services.

If you want to learn about affiliate marketing without wasting money on expensive courses, start with the "Bum Marketing Method" (see Sources for link). As it says in his headline, "GREEDY Marketers Are Charging Up To 7 For What I EXPOSE FREE here."It's quite true. Highly recommended. (And I don't make a cent for recommending it, I promise.)
There are lots of other free sources of information about making money via affiliate marketing. Another good place to start is the Warrior Forum (see Sources). There are many online marketing specialists there who will answer your questions.
By the way, Adsense is not the same as affiliate marketing. It's much more difficult to make a real income with Adsense compared to affiliate marketing.
My best advice is do not spend money on courses claiming to make you successful until you have done lots of reading from freely available sources.

Clickbank is an affiliate network that you may want to check. There are a lot of products you can promote with good affiliate programs. You can determine which ones are profitable based on the gravity rating.
2. No, you don't need to have a landing page or a website. Here are recommended ways you can promote products without a site:
- Post on blogs and forums and include your affiliate link. Do not submit useless posts so you won't be accused of spamming. If you are a valuable contributor, people are more likely to click on your links.
- Write an ebook that contains your affiliate links and give it away for free.
- Write ads on classified sites to promote products.
- Build a Squidoo lens

Besides Traffic Geyser, there is a free service called Tube Mogul. It works in much the same way. Additionally there is a software package I found called Tube Mastery (http://www.websitemarketingskills.com/recommends/TubeMastery) which works really well in terms of how to market on YouTube. The same basic information is true on the other sites, as well. Use your profile page to link to your site and use calls to action to get people to respond. I would just buy that program and familiarize yourself with it.

You could sign up on dating forums and put your URL in your forum sig, make some posts (not spam) and you would be surprised how much traffic that can bring you and it would be targeted traffic - people with an interest in your niche - it can bring a good conversion rate with it. You could always pay someone to post for you if you prefer.Also, make sure you are promoting your site well with off page SEO eg gaining backlinks through blog commenting (on relevant blogs), directory submissions, perhaps write and submit dating articles to article directories etc. Doing this should improve your SERPS ratings and bring you organic search engine traffic.

As an affiliate marketer (not a vendor), I usually look for affiliate programs in directories like Associate Programs as they give details on a company's reputation.Personally, I wouldn't join an affiliate program where I have no idea if affiliates are being paid. There should be a good track record in this regard.
If your company is new, you first have to build your reputation and gather some useful user testimonials. Then, get listed in affiliate program directories.

PPC advertising is getting more like SEO now because Google, for example, does not place your advert in the top position just because you placed the highest bid, instead it uses something called "Quality Score" to rank adverts. To get a high quality score you need to bid well, make sure your advert text, headline and landing pages are all relevant to the serach query. This is where a site that is well optimised (SEO'd) will work well for PPC too.
In terms of which provider to use, Yahoo is cheaper than Google as there are less people using Yahoo Search marketing. Although you will get quite a good number of advert impressions in Yahoo, Google will always drive more traffic because it is still the most popular search engine (in the UK anyway). Okay, well i've tried many things, i'v done surveys ( so little money it wasn't worth it )
Ive tried many things and so far not much has worked, there are only 2 that have worked for me.

both of them i have gotten paid, the problem is slicethepie took me about 2 days to make 10 dollars, and text broke just doesn't have enough work on it.My situation is i'm unemployed, i'm looking for a job, but in the mean time i need money to pay my bills, i only need maybe 600-1000 a month, and so far i can get about.. 300 a month or so.
I'm trying affiliate marketing, and really i havn't put a lot of time into it, becuase i'm not sure how long it takes to get started ( i can't wait to long because of bills ) But at the same time, it feels like it's the best chance.
My question is, for your affiliate marketers, how long did it take for you to start making your first 10-10 or 30 dollars a day? So far everything is failing for me, and i'm afraid to put the time into affiliate marketing and loose everything because it took to long.
I am looking for a job as i stated, so i can probably devote 1-2 weeks into w/e it is i'm doing, maybe 3. The thing is i need to see somewhere between 20-30 dollars a day in order to be on a safe spot. I wouldn't buy it and here is why. There are plenty of reviews, tips and tricks available online for free, so there is no reason for people to buy it. People want a specific plan that is easy to follow. If I were you here's what I would do. I would write the ebook and give it away for free. I would find good clickbank and rapbank products that give specific training on the things you mention in the book and include affiliate links to those products. The other alternative is to become an expert yourself at one or more of your money making suggestions and write more detailed ebooks about methods and simple step by step systems. Either way you go you will really have to bust your butt and learn to market your ebook(s). There's a link to a good, free training program on my profile.

Instead of looking for the fastest way to get traffic, you should be looking for the most sustainable way to get traffic - and that's by creating content that people want to read (requires search engine optimization skills, and keyword research skills, and even some online writing skills), and building inbound links to that content (requires hard work).Stop looking for magic pills.
The people that sell those ebooks are great at selling ebooks primarily. The people that are great at building long-term streams of traffic, well that's what they're doing.

It really doesn't matter what others would do, it only matters what you would do. It must be a subject that interests you, or you're not going to stick with it. This is a long process.So, make a list of the topics of interest you. Then spend some time on Google and look at the sites on that topic. Are there a bunch of high quality sites already? Can you find a niche that will differentiate you?
Then, take these topics and go to the Google AdWords Tool. Find out if the keywords appropriate for those topics actually have any search volume. If not, you may have trouble building traffic for your site. But with a niche, you may be able to make it work anyways.
Once you've decided on a topic, start creating content. Create killer content, and lots of it. Don't worry about traffic.
When you've got a good amount of traffic, start promoting the site in the search engines and social networks.
Meanwhile, keep creating more good content.
Once you've built some traffic, you might install Google AdSense to see if it generates some income. You'll be tempted to install it right away, but I'd recommend against it. You're not likely to make much money, and you might turn off some users. You need users to keep coming back to build your traffic.
As your traffic builds, maybe 10,000's of visitors per day, you might look at selling advertising directly. It's a major pain, but you'll retain the money from what you sell (Google keeps people north of 90% with AdSense).
