Many websites advise not to use classified ads to promote affiliate programs. But they are wrong. If you know how to use classified ads effectively, you will be able to drive traffic to your affiliate sites without spending a dime.
1. Keep the ad simple. Don't try to sell anything. You are trying to get clicks and drive traffic to websites. Your goal is to arouse curiosity in the readers' mind and urge them to click on the link that takes to the landing page of the affiliate sites.
2. Create a compelling header. This is the first line a reader scans. It should grab her attention immediately. If it cannot attract her like a magnet, she will not read the rest of your ad description. Don't write the type of headers that thousand other ads have in the classified site. Make it compelling and create a psychological trigger. To get the most clicks from your ad, use words like "cheap", "free", "proven" and "shocking".
3. The next step in creating your ad is the first two sentences of the ad itself. According to many experts, the best way to make your ad appealing is to state a quantifiable benefit in these two lines. This benefit should make the reader recognize right away that they have come to the right place. A good way to do this is to tell the reader exactly what solution your product offers them.
4. The third sentence of your ad should be about a crucial feature of your product. This can be a unique selling point. The purpose is to draw the reader into clicking through now to find out the details and price of the offer. Just remember to keep the ad as simple as you can. The goal when advertising with classified ads is to use as few words as you can to achieve the greatest results.
5. Next you will need places to post your new ads to. The criteria here is to find places that will allow free classified ads that get large amounts of traffic themselves. Use Google and search using key words "free classifieds", "free ads", "free business ads". Use the first two pages of Google listing and start visiting each site. Use sites that are simple and easy to use and keep a listing of those sites in you browser's favorites.
6. Don't forget to put a link in your ad. The link will take users to your affiliate site when they click it. Use classified sites that have an input box for URL. Put your link starting with http. If the site does not have an URL box in the ad submission page, just forget it unless you know the html syntax of a link.
7. Don't spam the free classified sites by posting ads in irrelevant categories. You can post as many ads as you want but post only in a few relevant categories. If the site does not allow you to post multiple ads, there is no need to visit the site for the second time.
8. Use pictures or banners in your ad. If the classified site does not have a picture upload feature, you should give a second thought if you really want to use the site for your promotion. You can use it if the site gets lots of traffic.
By following these proven methods and a bit of perseverance, your success and profits will be greater. It will give more effective exposures to affiliate programs you are promoting. Just head to clickbank and pick up a few affiliate programs and start promoting using free classified ads.

QUESTION:
Is there a way to know how many sales I make in affiliate marketing business?
Hi. I am an affiliate of several companies that sell products and services. My question is how do I know if I made any sales? These organizations claim that they attach cookies to visitors that come from my site and if they buy their product/service I get paid. What if i make 10 sales but they only tell me that I made 1? Is there a way to check them? I don't want to get ripped off for my efforts. Is there some kind of tracking device?-
ANSWER:
If you're dealing with reputable companies, don't worry. They're more than willing to pay you a few bucks to keep the program attractive to you and others just like you. Some companies use promotional codes to identify which affiliate send the business their way. The problem with these programs is that your friends might forget to insert the promo code. If the program also gives your friend a discount, then she is highly motivated to insert the code. Try to select these.
It isn't in anybody's interest to cheat you or other affiliates. Publicly traded companies must prove that they have adequate controls of all their financial dealings, and this would just be one of the items that would have to pass that test. If you're working with a small, privately-held company, it's possible that the controls aren't there. But, these companies need you far more that the big boys do, and they know that making sure you earn good dollars is the best way to keep the sales rolling in.

QUESTION:
How can I get a large amount of traffic to my site which converts to sales, I am marketing affiliate products?
I have used classified ads, PPC, blogs, only to have traffix trikle in and no sales. I need to find a way to get tens of thousands of potential targeted leads to my sites and have a decent portion convert to sales. Any suggestions that are relatively inexpensive (within 0/ month marketing budget)?-
ANSWER:
Getting traffic is a combination of a lot of things. The key to success is to create great content that visitors want to use, search engines will love and other websites will naturally link to. Of course, it's easier said than done. You can use pay per click advertising in the search engines to reach audiences looking for your products. You can use Google Adwords http://www.google.com/adwords or Yahoo http://searchmarketing.yahoo.com
Here are some shoestring marketing ideas that can help you get the visitors you need at the least cost possible:
1. Create the best content you can with the best products you can possibly offer. Your content is your best advertisement - if visitors love your content, then they will go back and spread the word to others.
2. Improve your conversion. Getting visitors is one thing; getting them to buy your products is a whole different story. Read the article " How To Sell More on the Web: 30 Tips To Increase Conversion Rates For An Ecommerce Site " http://www.powerhomebiz.com/092006/ecommerce.htm for tips on how to improve your conversion rates.
3. Rank well in the search engines (organic search results, not the pay per click). SEs can be a big source of traffic. The key is to create the best content in your niche. If you have good content, other websites will gladly link to you and offer your site as a resource to their audience. Check the on-page factors and be sure to get linked from authority sites in your topic area.
If you are going to read only one piece on search engine optimization, I suggest you read Brett Tabke of WebmasterWorld.com's "Successful Site in 12 Months with Google Alone: 26 steps to 15k a day." http://www.webmasterworld.com/forum3/2010.htm
4. Send out press releases. While outfits charge as much as 0 per release, there are free press release submission places on the Web. Press releases allow you to (a) attract media attention; (b) get more back links to your website without sending each website an email request; and (c) get more visibility especially if your press release gets in Google News or Yahoo News.

You get exposure for your business; establishes you as an authority in your field, and allows you to get backlinks for your website. If 50 websites publish your article and it contains a link back to your website, then you easily get 50 links from a single article. The more links you have, the greater your chances for increasing your search engine rankings.
Here is a comprehensive list of where to submit your articles http://answers.yahoo.com/question/;_ylt=AhzreGmnCUicOoyedqypscUjzKIX?qid=1006022407481
6. Make it easy for users to recommend your site. Viral marketing is very important -- and easy to tap on the Web. But give your users the tools. Get a Recommend this Site script from websites such as cgiscripts.com and similar directories of scripts. Some even go as far as giving incentives to those who recommend the site to their friends. If only 10 people go to your site, but these 10 people invite 10 more - that's additional traffic that you get for FREE!

Most important, what about affiliate programs, where they get a cut for directing someone to my site who buys? How can this be done?

QUESTION:
WordPress, Squidoo, Blogspot, GoDaddy. Which is better for business sales, blogs, and affiliate income?
I would like to sell crafts, MLM products or some other items in the most low cost way possible. I want to be able to add photos, banners, links to other websites and affiliate ads. I am not sure what website to use. I have heard about WordPress, Squidoo, Blogspot, and GoDaddy, but I have no idea which would work best. What do you think. If there are alternatives, please give your advise. Thank you.-
ANSWER:
Start a blog on blogspot that would be the easiest if you want to start the free way. Use Squidoo to promote your blog as they only allow a few links in a lens. Godaddy is where you buy domain names, their hosting is not that great for a blog.

QUESTION:
How do you generate affiliate sales in a "timely" fashion?
Here is another question I have for those of you familiar with the affiliate marketing business (where you promote other peoples' stuff on your website or blog). I've been in the affiliate marketing business for a while (I primarily use Linkshare, Commission Junction, Amazon, Ebay, Clickbooth and Clickbank as well as a few tiered affiliate programs, such as Global Domains International). However, I've noticed that some advertisers (especially at Commission Junction) expect you to generate sales for them in a "timely" fashion (say within 6 months or less) and some may terminate you from their program if you do not generate sales for them soon enough. I currently have 2 websites, but they do have a low page rank at the moment (they are relatively new after all) and so I don't get a whole lot of traffic to them. Anyways, is it possible to generate affiliate sales within a short time frame (say 6 months or less)? If so, what is the best approach to accelerating the process?-
ANSWER:
If you want to generate sales within a short period of time then you've gotta drive lots of traffic to your website in a much shorter period of time. Unless you are extremely lucky, you won't really get any sales. There is a study that says that only 2% of people who visit your site are most likely to convert into payers. So there is really no way of accelerating the process unless you're willing to commit to building traffic to your websites first (which in the end, would really be worth it because it's going to give you more options on how to monetize through your site...).
Check out the Affiliate Marketing and Web Traffic sections from this blog I stumbled upon on twitter. I think the articles are quite digestible enough.

QUESTION:
How do I get affiliate sales?
Hello I just started a affiliate program for my website on clickbank. In a week I have about 30 affiliates but I still have no sells. Its an ebook on how to make money. I need help making sales I thought that my affiliates would be able to generate sales but it doesn't look like they are doing a good job, I have offered the highest commission and an incentive's, along with banners and even excerpts from the book. I know the product is a good product because many people can use it. Are there any companies out there that will reach sales goals for me, without me coming out my pocket immediately. PPC is expensive within itself so that's not an option for me. Help me out please.www.lucimarketing.com Home page
http://www.lucimarketing.com/ebook.html This is the affiliate portal-
ANSWER:
Hi Fierra,I just did a search on clickbank for fierra23 and your offer was there but there wasn't a pitch page. Your home page is offline as well. Are they both the same? Your banners are really bright with text thrown onto them.
So take this lightly, ok. I don't see a website, so there is nothing to buy. If and when there is a website that appears, you are going to want really good adcopy (I mean you should want to buy your own product after reading your own product page. You should test and prove your conversion rate because good affiliate don't want to market low converting products. There isn't a product price or $/sale to attract the better marketers. Your banners should include 125 x 125 pixel ads (lots of wordpress uses them these days). Also, try using higher quality banners that look good and sell your product and not yourwebsite.com.
If I were you, I would go to an affiliate forum and get advice from members in the forums as well. They will usually give you pretty good advice.
Good Luck. I really hope you product gets off the ground and does well.

QUESTION:
SEO -Question about Affiliate sales generated from my Youtube videos?
Is it worthwhile to allow my helpful Youtube videos to be uploaded to stranger's websites? I am an affiliate marketer who has created helpful videos that offer review and education. But I do hope that I get the affiliate sale from the potential customer.
I see that these strangers' websites have inserted a link at the end of my description (essay) to their own advertisers.. I also see that they use my essay (description) and link words to their own advertisers.
Is it beneficial for me to have my videos out there. (I do have my website name on annotations.)
Thank you for your help-
ANSWER:
Only if you can ensure that they aren't using it to promote other offers or their own affiliate links. If you have URLs mentioned in the video maybe you can take that chance. Though, you can't count on unaffiliated third parties to post your affiliate link in your video description -- they simply won't do that.

QUESTION:
How can I increase sales as an affiliate?-
ANSWER:
This standard choice may not create interest. In boring
problem about online, publicated, or flyer actions there is
nothing to help with more boredom. A location that is in
play can be a good choice. For advertising products like
a new snack, or sneaker the campaign goes to the stadiums. Parking lot updates work for coverages that have
safe and tradeable commodity. Technology is better in
malls, temporary booths work well. Even big screen tv is
well received in the active trade position. First decide and
ask within your client system. Set a limit of what you have
to sell. Go up in services in price is the real world. Those
people selling you electric gadget world, have got money
to spend. So many markets are in need of new managing
that sometimes adding employees or upgrade is right.
Seek people with money.

QUESTION:
I have started in an affiliate pogram and need help on how to generate sales.?
I have advertised on free advertisement sites, created a blog, and have not had any luck at all. I need help on what to do.-
ANSWER:
As I'm sure you've realized, sales depend on traffic. If 1% of the people who get to the sales page actually buy the product, you need to get 100 people to the sales page for every sale.
And if you can get 10% of the people who see your ad, blog or affiliate link to click through, you'll need to expose your link to 1000 people for every sale.
I would concentrate on getting traffic to my blog, and 'pre-sell' the product - do a review, for example. Then advertise your blog URL in as many places as you can (without spamming, of course!)
Here are some suggestions:
- Write articles and submit them to the top 10 or so article directories
- Comment on other people's blogs. Make your comments relevant.
- Write a press release and send it to free press release distributors
- Create a Squidoo lens and a HubPages hub and have them send traffic to your blog
Have a look at an example review blog here: http://clickbankcashblog.blogspot.com/

My friend and I have an opportunity to generate leads (sales referrals) for an existing brick and mortar business. The company has a successful affiliate and direct sales program that pays 0 per referred sale.
They currently have no Internet representation. My partner and I plan to generate sales from Internet marketing only - no traditional sales.
What is the best way to legally set up the business to protect our interests as a company and my interests personally?-
ANSWER:
When you say "protect our interests as a company," do you mean the company you are referring people to or the one you plan to form with your friend? It really depends if you are employees of the brick and mortar business. If you aren't, you could set up a limited liability company (LLC) and have the brick and mortar business pay your company (the LLC) for the referrals. You and your partner would then file the appropriate tax forms for your partnership.

QUESTION:
Question about Affiliate Marketing Sales?
Say you promoted a merchant ok, and your says for period 1st jan 09 - 1st april 09, you had 700 clicks for them, generated £10,000 worth of sales and earned £600.00 But in 1st jan 10 - 1st april 10, you had over double the clicks to retailer, 1500 clicks, but you only sold £2,000 worht and earned £100.Is that a realistic drop, or would you want to investigate if sales were being generated properly by the retailer.
-
ANSWER:
It is a realistic drop.
This last 8 months have seen merchants drop their per click payments due to the economic climate. Businesses have had to make cut backs on their outgoings so ad clicks was one of the first things for an online business to cut back on.The revenues are slowly starting to pick up again but the PPC rates are still fairly low comapred to what they where a year ago.

Can someone provide honest information on the Wealthy Affiliate website program? No sales...?
...pitches please.
Is this website service offering legitimate? What can be expected as a member? What kind of skills would be needed? HOw much time & money would be needed to invest? Is this a good way to earn some extra cash working from home with flexible hours while working another full time job?-
ANSWER:
I like the phrase that i read from someone here, If they ask you for money to make money, its a scam.Yes its a very good bussines, but for them, they are becoming millionaire or are already, and yes some people will be very succesfull in this but will require a lot of effort and a lot of luck.
If you have a good website or are thinking in building one you could try amazon asociates program for free:
https://affiliate-program.amazon.com/
Amazon has a lot of products fit for every interest that you have so give it a try.
Also completely free to join its wonderfull ads:
http://www.projectwonderful.com/
If you have a good website or a re planning in building one this will let you make some cents every week, and eventually you could be making a lot more, I have seen some websites doing 5$ daily or even 12$ daily.
But in both cases this will require a lot of effort to drive enough people to your website to make it worthy.Good luck

What is expected Click Thru Rate for affiliate Websites? How many of the click thrus will turn into sales?-
ANSWER:
It will certainly depend on your product, website design and so on. I assume you are referring to say, Clickbank or something of that nature. I would say that you would definitely want to convert 1:150 and better. However, this depends on your traffic source and how much you spend on advertising. If I spend on advertising I would like to make -= profit. To do this I generally need to convert 1:150.I hope that helps!

QUESTION:
What is the best tips to get more sale in affiliate program?
Where I work on Live Streaming sports tv affiliate program!Have you any advise for me???
Thank you.
-
ANSWER:
I agree on the guy. Build a good converting landing page and improve and test the conversion on a permanent basis. build trust with your visitors. There is a monetization program for sports characters called Fantapper from NetBat (www.netbat.com).
Fantapper is a netBAT-enabled product that brings interactive apps to online celebrity-related content.
If you’re looking for an easy and low risk way to increase your landing page conversion rates, then use the conversion rate optimization strategies outlined here:
Conversion Rate Optimization is also the fastest and easiest strategy to increase your sales without spending more money on increasing your traffic.
The following are the top 6 conversion components that should be tested and improved to boost your conversion rates…
1. Headline - Use headlines that clearly state the biggest benefit(s) that your product offers. Tell them exactly what they can get on your landing page.
2. Offer - Since your offer is the "call to action" that asks your visitors to act (purchase, sign up, opt-in), your offer accounts for the second the biggest opportunity for improvements in conversion rate.
3. Lead - The “lead” or first paragraph is the third biggest opportunity for improvements in your conversion rate. Leads must be written with strong benefits that capture your visitor’s attention and make them want to continue reading.
4. Benefits - The "benefit bullets" (bullet-point format) are the forth biggest opportunity for improvements in conversion rate.
5. Images - The images you use have a big impact on your conversion rates. The best practice is to use images that clearly portray the biggest benefit your product or service offers your customer
6. "Look & Feel" - According to a recent study by Stanford University, 46% of Web sales are lost on websites that lack the critical elements that build value and trust with website visitors. The number one reason the people indicated why they wouldn't buy from a website was because it had an unprofessional "look and feel" that lacked credibility and did not "feel" trustworthy. Having a professional look, and trust building logos (such as VeriSign and BBBOnline certifications) help convert significantly more of your website's qualified visitors into new customers.
Other Important Conversion Elements to test:
* Buttons – Button text, color, look, etc.
* Pricing
* Formatting and placement of page elements, images and copy
* Navigation links versus no navigation links
* Press Quotes
* TestimonialsOther Conversion Best Practices and Tips:
*Test your pages on Andy King’s "Web Page Analyzer" http://www.websiteoptimization.com/services/analyze/
* Add a 1-800-Number and Call to Action above the fold (top of the page)
* Add a Logo and a powerful "Value Proposition" to the top left
* Instead of letting visitors click off your landing page, put all your information on one page (This tactic alone increased the conversions of a landing page by 55%)
* Use colors that fit your target customer’s personalityIf you like, you can write me an email on my blog www.seo-coaching.net and I will try to find a solid answer to your questions. I can have a look on your specific case.

QUESTION:
What is the difference between a wholesale supplier and affiliate marketing?
I want to start an online business and I am not sure what is the difference between a wholesale supplier and affiliate marketing. I understand that wholesale companies will dropship for you and affiliate marketing is based on sales. Which one should I do? Should I do a combination of both? Also, do you need a shopping cart for an affiliate marketing business?? Thanks!-
ANSWER:
If you understand that working with a drop shipper means that you sell the product and they stock it and ship it for you and affiliate marketing where you market another vendors product for a commission when a sale is made then you need to ask yourself what you would be more comfortable doing and what you think you could make money doing. Both types of business you will have to do the same thing as far as marketing the site to get the traffic you need to make a conversion. Just because you publish a website for either type business doesn't mean you are visible to the search engines and the public at large, that takes work to get that ball rolling. I would suggest that you go to an article directory an put in an inquiry about the things you need to do and I will also give you some info on some of the things that need to happen to get started.
If you plan to incorporate then you need to register with the federal, state and city government. If you plan to run the business as a sole proprietor then all you need is a business license from your local city government. Some cities do not require you to get a business license until the business makes ,000 to ,000 so see what your local government requires for an e-commerce business.
Steps for getting started:
First and foremost write up a business plan.
1. Forming the business either through incorporating or as a sole proprietor. If you plan to incorporate then you need to get with your states Secretary of State to do this.
2. Find your SIC and NAICS code you will need either one or both for your business formation with the government entities.
3. Getting an EIN if required
4. Setting up a Franchise and Excise Tax and Sales and Use Tax account with the Dept of Revenue in the state you are in. You need to determine if you need one or both of these accounts. Just call the Dept of Revenue in your state and they are usually pretty helpful in answering all your questions.
5. Set up a business bank account or bank account with a DBA attached to it if you plan to do the business as a sole proprietor if you incorporate then a business bank account is what you need.
6. Set up a merchant and or paypal account. The merchant account you can set up through your bank and this allows you to take all major credit cards.
7. Build a website and get a domain name and hosting. You can either build your own website or have one built for you, some start out with a blog because it's free and you can make it look like a standard website so take a look at this option and see if it will work for you. Just keep in mind if you use a blog you need relevant content in the body of the blog if it's just full of product links then you will eventually get shut down. As far as building your own you can either buy software or use the online website builders. Using the software allows you to create your site how you want it just make sure the hosting provider you use will support the software, with the online website builders you will be limited to their templates and I believe you have to use their hosting but you can buy your domain name from anywhere and just direct to their server.
Research SEO for your website, SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization and you can read about this at any article directory. Once in the directory put in a search for what you are wanting to read about and you should get some articles to read up on. If your search comes up empty or not what you are looking for just reword the search until you do. The info is there you just need to use the right phrasing. If you are on a tight budget you may also look into free ways to market your site.
8. Get inventory.
9. Figure out how you plan to ship product. This all comes down to how you plan to handle inventory. Some people have their own and some get involved with companies that have the product and you sell it and they drop ship the product for you. This saves on you having to carry the product yourself and having unsold inventory in your possession. If you plan to do affiliate marketing then you need to sign up to the affiliate programs and get your code specific links to post on your site.
10. Marketing your website. Just because you publish a website doesn't mean it's visible to the search engines and the public at large so you need to submit the site to the 3 top search engines at the least and start marketing the site. This is a basic order and some of these may overlap each other during the process but I hope this helps out. I've been through the routine and had to figure it all out myself. Just ask a lot of questions with the people you are dealing with to get things in order.

Hi dude, first you need to identify a bestselling product that is able to yield the highest return with the least amount of refunds and you would surely stand a very good chance of making money online. Some bestselling products are health, fitness and sex related, investment, home based business, etc.
I like to select products that are able to convert between 1-5%. That means for every targeted visitor you sent to the merchant site you will make one to five sales at least.
