Place google ads at the top and top left of your site. Ads placed near rich content and navigational aids usually do well because users are focused on those areas of a page. Wider ads seem to perform better that taller ads. The formats that are most effective are the 336x280 large rectangle, the 300x250 inline rectangle, and the 160x600 wide skyscraper. Although these ad formats perform well, you should use the format that best complements your pages.

    I may be wrong but it is my understanding that Google (and maybe other) search platforms do not allow you to direct link your Ad to an Affiliate Offer. The Ad has to go to a Landing Page where you then send the visitor to the offer. Additionally I heard that it is possible to redirect a visitor to an affiliate offer without really sending them to a landing page. There are probably several ways to accomplish this.       You can link directly to your landing page but it's not going to show up in any search engines and it not a good idea, because if it's an affiliate programme there are probably hundreds or thousands of links to the same page.

      The reason people do landing pages is so that it's not just another link to the same affiliate page.

      You're much better off doing a landing page and from that landing page redirecting your visitors to your affiliate page. If you don't fancy doing all the work of making a landing page just go to fiverr.com and let someone do it for a .

      It all depends on your site. Many sites do well with Adsense, while some have more luck with affiliate programs. In our case, we earn in half day with Adsense what we earn in one month with affiliate programs as Adsense is doing exceptionally well for us

      The BEST approach though is to combine the two in order to have a more diversified revenue sources. Plus, some pages may work well for Adsense, while some of your pages may be more suited for affiliate programs. The key, though with affiliate programs, is to make sure that these are the products and services that your target audiences are interested in.

      With Amazon -- you need a lot of sales to be able to make it worthwhile.       Google Adsense is PPC (Pay per click) where as most others are PPP (Pay per performance or sale). Very few sites are offering PPC, you can use Yahoo PPC instead of Google adsense.

      At present Yahoo offers this service to publishers in USA, I am afraid you need to stick to google adsense if you are living outside USA.

      Other sites like Commission junction (CJ) are providing pay per performance. You can earn handsome money with them too, but they are not similar to Adsense.

      Well From the legel point of view you can't use Trade Marked things. But its all depends on trade mark owner, Google in this case. They won't bother about it unless you do something harmful for their brand name or you start earn a lot promoting one of their competitors by your site. If something like this happens you will have to give up the domain which means you will loose all money and traffic. So if you have a long term plan to develop this domain better go for unique name on yr own.

      I don't think by spending money and email out you could get any results. The best way to to do some market research about your target audience.

      If you have the right tools and good guidance, you can make some money without spending a single cent.

      I'm not sure why you want an affiliate program that issues you a web site. These are generally not the best marketing methods. You end up with a million identical web sites and the search engines hate them.

      However, there is an excellent web site that lists tons of affiliate programs and rates their effectiveness. Some of them probaby issue web sites to users. The link is below. I suggest you check it out and you will find a program that suits you.

      from my personal experience, join a blog network... you really have to have quality content...

      usually joining blog networks will earn you 80% of what the whole network earns through specific hardcoded ads (local ads)...

      I have earned more from specific hardcoded local ads than from adsense. which is an additional couple hundred to a thousand $ a month

      The Operating Agreement of the Amazon Associates Program specifically says "YOUR SITE" -- meaning the associate must have a site. They first review the site for its suitability with the Amazon.com program -- if you don't have a site, then they have nothing to review

    I just moved to France to marry my fiance and would like to start a website about the city I live in (there's nothing in English).       Yes, you pay taxes on all income in France. But you might get exemption is the income is quite low.

      Try to contact the local "ARCE" or Agence Régionale pour la Création d'Entreprise. They will help you for free and might get you some useful contacts.

      If you expect to make a living from your website, you should probably contact a "boutique de gestion", the ARCE can give you addresses.

      Persistance is the keyword here! Dont use them dumass sites that set you up with pay per click accounts! Most everyone whe has a comercial outlet chain (kmart, walmart, etc) all have affiliate programs now! The hard part is shovin your website down the worlds throat! I have created a few sites for peep that have netted them a good income but I aint got the patience or desire to sit here and rub it in the worlds face! Its no different in anything you do! Ambition and motivation is a must! I unfortunately have neither! LOL

      i prefer commission junction. you can sign up with an insane amount of affiliates in whatever niche you want, and add beautiful ads to your website. you can get ads they pay per lead or pay a commission of a sale. as opposed to the bland ads that adsense produces (not to say that i don't reccomend having some of both)
