     I would suggest starting off with ebay.com first. It is relatively easy to set up and very cost effective. You can also start your own store own ebay and have customers shop your store on ebay, and already have a large market for your product. I would definetly recommend that you research ebay first and maybe give it a try first. At lot of people use ebay to start and continue their business online even when they maintain there own website due to the fact that so many people already shop there and its a new way to build clients.

      I see why you haven't any answers - it would take a long research project to answer your question - the internet is a whole new ballgame - there are no rules in place to govern communication and marketing. Right now there's alot of talk about what is fair and the FTC has just issued some new information regarding what you can't and can't say. The rules are the same as for any business practice right now - but you know - there is so much subtlty in interneting marketing that it is hard for people to catch up....In terms of marketing strategies for your non-profit organizations, it would be the same as for marketing anything else - get a domain, a website, advertise (free methods), maybe build a membership site (free one), find someone in your organization who is savvy re: internet marketing or hire a consultant (could come cheap - I have heard of marketers offering their services for free so they can show you what they can do to bolster your image on the web).

I know the book wouldn't be limited to your area, but they may give you some good feedback on the idea. You would also find out how plugged in they already seem to be. As a follow up to any book, I would suggest starting a blog where you update the information until the follow up book comes out. This type of information gets stale fairly quick. In other words, by the time it was published, a lot of the information could be/will probably be outdated. Set up the blog and highlight it in the back of the book.

      2) Get a franchise from the US or some other country (maybe Singapore or UK) and make yourself the master franchisee for the whole of Africa. Then you make sub-master franchisees for the other countries. Again for the reasons mentioned above.

      3) If you have investors with deep pockets, you can buy established Internet cafes or Internet cafe chains in the different countries and centralize management in your home territory.

      My recommendations are based on some principle i abide by:

      1) Don't re-invent the wheel. Just tweak it. Hence my recommendation to just get an established franchise or to acquire existing cafes.

      2) Leave the local marketing and operations to competent local people who have deep knowledge of the territory. You cannot hope to match their knowledge simply because they have their roots there.

      Pink strikes me as someone who has 'got it together'. She's edgy without going over the top.

      I suspect her marketing strategy is dictated largely by her and her wishes to her record company. She's probably the type who sits in an art department after a photoshoot for her album and helps choose 'the photo' that will be used. She also only appears at quality events. So she's not one for milking the dull and cheap day time TV crowd. If she is asked to sing at an event, she'll make sure it is quality.
