      If you are a foreign student you should apply for a Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) from the IRS. It will only be valid for tax purposes and will allow you to file a tax return.

      The form you fill out for this is a W-7. Then you should file a tax return like all other calendar year taxpayers by April 15th.

      You may be able to deduct certain expenses related with the operation as well if this is a self employment type position. However, I would consult an accountant or tax professional for guidance related to that.

      I've found that this website is not really the best place to ask that question, as most of the answers you receive are people advertising the online semi-scam site that they are trying to make money at, and supplying you with a referral link. Which is usually the only way you can make more than a few cents at a time that may or may not get paid to you.

      While there may be online sites that pay you, I am not really aware of them. My suggestion would be hotjobs.com, or the craigslist or your area, in the very unlikely event that there is a legitimate work from home job posted.

      I imagine if you set up a website (which would require an investment) and then set up advertisers that would pay you for views, and finally, became really popular. You would be able to make a fair amount of money.

      Good luck though. I'd be sure to double check any web links that get posted, there are usually at least one valid(read: not written by a scammer) review from a person who has attempted to use the service who will let you know exactly how and if it really works.

I want to earn a regular income without starting my own business, having to hunt for referrals, pay a fee to start or get training, etc. I do not want anything dealing with calling (incoming or outgoing). Only people that have been paid and are making a decent income respond. I am tired of sorting through the scams. Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Let me add a few more details since I see I'm already getting the "you must be too lazy to work" responses. I did not say I didn't want to be any effort into it. I just stated that I did not want to be scammed or pay a fee to work. I simply want something legitimate that I can do from home that doesn't require a fee or any type of calling. If you wish to be rude, please respond to someone else and do not waste my time.

      I guess some people should bother to actually read your question. I felt that your remark stating " I want to EARN a regular income" pretty much points out that you are not a selfish or lazy person.

      Have you checked into doing data entry or processing medical insurance claims from your home? You might be able to get something started in that area. I wish you all the luck in the world finding something on-line. There are so many scams out there.

I know that I will have to put in work and I am very much willing to do so.       Unless you have very specific skills, such as graphic design, web design, computer programming or sell on eBay, there are no real internet work at home jobs. On line jobs are just another urban myth. You will just be bombarded with all kinds of work at home scams such as envelope stuffing, data entry, home assembly, medical transcription, reading e mails, surveys, etc.

      Wow, the best thing on the internet is eBay, if you study how to, you can make a very honest and good living, I personaly make 95 + a month on eBay, selling elecronics, I put up an item, the buyer buys it at my raised price and then I order the item from the other company and keep the profit, I do over 15 transactions a day, and make around a day. So eBay is your very best bet. It costs to start to get verified.

      If you don't already have experience I would strongly suggest that you go work for one of the national franchises for a couple of years. Just jumping is will be a major injustice to your clients. H & R Block has a national policy against doing work on the side but everybody violates that as a means of starting to build a client base (I don't work for them by the way). Others allow you to do outside tax work but will take a very dim view if you take any of their clients. All of the national franchises conduct a "Tax School", which is the best place to start. The 9 to 9 depending on the franchise .

      You can use Turbo Tax or the H&R Block's Tax Cut to do as many returns as you like if you don't mind that it violates the license you have to use that product. That does leave you with doing all of your returns on paper but it gets you started for about for software. If you choose ProSeries or Lacerte (the two most popular) and wish to e-file, you will need a EFIN from the IRS which requires you to file a form 8633 at least 6 weeks before the tax season. You can get the form 8633 on line at irs.gov and fill it out on your computer. You will need to call the IRS (1-866-255-0654) and get a finger print card to send along with your form 8633.
      Which is the better software depends on your needs and ability.
      ProSeries is "interview" based meaning that the program asks question and puts your answers in the correct place. You still can use a "forms mode" or switch back and forth. It does some but not much in the way of customer management if you need that.
      Lacerte is "forms" based which in most cases requires that you know what to put in which block. It is therefore faster if you know where to put things and how to do calculations. It does a very complete job of customer management.
      Both of these have packages that allow you to pay for e-files as you go and do as little or as many different types of filling as you need. You can start those packages at around 0 and go up into the thousands. Some of those packages also offer RAL type products from the same financial institutions that the national franchises use. You really need to learn more about those products before you try to offer them.

      And last but not least the IRS web site and the call centers are your best friend so use them. They offer a great deal of free stuff like forms and publications that are invaluable. (I don't work there either).

      i do use this website where you can sign up for free and fill some surveys and redeem your money , but there also a monthly survey where you can get 500$ if ur name won their monthly lottery . i am just hoping to win this one day lol
